London-based House imprint MN2S maintain the upfront pressure early in 2007, delivering yet another boundary-pushing release in the form of Halo & Kemal's 'Origin EP'!
Dropping on MN2S Monday 26 February, the 'Origin EP' is another deep house bomb from the Milk'n'2 Sugars crew and - like their recent 'Afterdark EP' courtesy of Liquid Peoples' Danism Project - is another foray into the darker, driving side of House, and one that is certain to explode in clubs!
The two-track EP includes 'State Of Mind ' and 'African Dream' and both are late night, 'deeper than deep' affairs. 'State Of Mind ' - with its haunting keys and punchy bassline -contains an almost hypnotic feel, complimented by the minimal 'State Of Mind ' spoken word vocal which drifts in and out of the track. Similarly, 'African Dream' will no doubt become a peak-time set crowd pleaser and is further proof of Halo's immense versatility and overall talent as a producer.
The producers of this outstanding new MN2S release need little introduction. For nearly 20 years Halo - aka Brian Varga - has captivated the global house scene with his unique and altogether unmistakable sound and approach to House Music.
Born and raised in Chicago , Halo witnessed the beginnings of the musical movement that we know today as House. Since stepping up to the decks for the first time at 12 years of age, he has been an example of success in a notoriously tough industry.
Through his extensive discography of 12? original productions and remixes on labels including Om, Electrik Soul, Perfecto, Large Records, Cocosoul, Bluem and his own burgeoning CityDeep imprint and through his collaborations with likes of Jay-J, Jamie Thinnes, Mr V and countless others, Halo has become one of the most respected and consistent DJ-producers out there. Now, with his and Kemal's 'Origin EP' about to drop on MN2S, he is set to continue his winning run!
Kemal meanwhile is enjoying substantial success on the back of his new release on Undefeated Records and recent remix work for acclaimed imprint Seasons Ltd.
