A rich seam of underground talent has been mined from Australian shores. Following in the footsteps of fellow countrymen who have made a splash on Particles throughout 2015, the likes of GMJ and Matter are now joined by Michael Arcuri and his Luka Sambe production moniker as the spotlight shines over his considerable talents and the ancestry of his "Family Tree".

From the Quakers Hill suburb, west of the metropolitan Sydney, Luka Sambe hit the ground running after a debut for Exclusive Recordings in 2013. Since then, a host of original material has found itself featured among the underground dance industry's most notable imprints. Soundtelller, Arch44 Music and Luke Porter's Temporum have all played their part in extending Sambe's global reach while the "30 Year Hiatus" EP for the ever-impressive Mesmeric illustrated why the Australian has risen steadily to the upper echelons of the scene. Furthermore, 2014's "Locus", part of "Tour de Traum IX Mixed by Riley Reinhold", became Sambe's best-selling track of 2015 for the highly-esteemed German imprint.

A debut for Particles warmed up the "Winter Particles 2015" compilation in the shape of "Petrichor", as Sambe now returns to the label for his first solo original EP. A twin-track offering of high order, full of Sambe's trademark, "sunshine", "Family Tree" opens with the effortless, driving percussive rhythms of "When I'm With Her". Full of hypnotic rhythmic energy, haunting vocal lines emerge above a rippling arpeggio line that coruscates with melodic joy to match the dynamism of fizzing hi-hats and cadenced chord stabs. A rich offering full of verve and passion, the track is a fine opening gambit.

Partner track, "Ancestors" sees a slightly more considered and refrained approach. Still hallmarked by a pedigree rhythm section, a delightful percussive woodblock riff can be heard to accompany a delightful free form melodic line that meanders its way with carefree ease across the more structured rhythmic and bass oriented components of a modern club track. Pulsating pads makes their presence felt as do a series of white noise risers to add further texture to an impressive offering.

Two striking new tracks illustrate the rich heritage found within Luka Sambe's work and his star-studded "Family Tree".
