- Jordan Peak creates the first imprint on Assembly Records with his 'Gooseneck EP'. Title track 'Gooseneck' is a muscular peak-time workout that focuses around a solid lock groove bass line and a variety of intermittent chopped vocals. The spoken diva sample provides the only interval from the relentless hook and spine tingling cymbal line. With massive crossover appeal, this floor-friendly offering would be no less at home on terraces as it would at the more upbeat of house night. 'Playground Rules', in contrast combines low-fi bass tones and hypnotic vocals with lashings of loose percussion. This groove lead composition perfectly reflects early Chicago and New York in its arrangement whilst utilising sounds geared towards today's modern systems. 'You Make Me Better' is another sophisticated deep house cut armed with multi-layered vocals, a subtle bass line and flashes of Rhodes. Overall this track has a more soulful vibe but still displays Jordan's obvious ability to keep his audience engaged with persuasive percussion. Jordan describes his sound as 'a mixture of organic drums and synthised melodies combined with a healthy dose of low end frequencies; deep, hypnotic, far-out grooves which join the dots between house and techno'.
