SVS Records was set up by Beni Brachtel and Daniel Her- mann-Collini as an outlet for Brachtel's Selbstversorger- sound collective. Since 2007, every late summer, SVS takes different artists out of their comfort zone and confronts them with a primal lifestyle far away from their familiar periphery. Musicians and music producers check in at a chalet in the alps for two weeks. Without a mobile network yet packed with a great deal of studio equipment, the seclusion of the venue does not only affect the social coexistence but also the artistic output of all participants. Everything focuses on the elementary: eating, sleeping, nature and the production of music that would not be the same if it wasn't for these circumstances.
It has become a perfect platform for an intensive social and creative interchange.
SVS Records reflects the musical output of these musicianswho are part of this constant, and growing, collective. Afterreleasing 'SVS 1' in Oct 2012 - the first official collectionmade up of songs from the last three years by various ar- tists whose backgrounds could hardly be more diverse - the next release is due for release during summer 2013, with a limited three-vinyl-series named "Polyrhythmic Series 1-3"
All tracks have (besides their origin) one common denomi- nator: the subtle workout on the layers of rhythm.
While the music itself works in club context, the whole se- ries is produced with your own personal listening experi- ence in mind.
