Ramon Tapia's statement that I just want to do my own thing and play, stems from the suppression of his father's own provocative music, in a military ruled Chile, many years ago. Having left the country at an early age, Ramon's youth was spent absorbing the music scene's in both Holland and Belgium. Working behind the counter of an Antwerp record store brought new inspiration, and soon he was creating music with a number of friends. Soon, born out of the frustration of working with others, Ramon branched out alone, enabling him to realize the musical visions he had held for so long. With a broad musical taste, and the coming together of his Latin and European upbringing, Ramon is able to tap into a wealth of diverse cultural sounds and rhythms. Being able to create works that range from the deep and soulful, to driving disco and tech house and even the funkier realms of techno, has seen release and remix for a variety of labels. Great Stuff, Yellow Tail, Kling Klong, Herzblut, Yoshitoshi and Alchemy have all experienced the Tapia grooves and today he makes his debut on Snatch! Ramon drops two killer slices of filtered fun in You Got To (Keep Movin) and Organized. Both unashamedly flirt with their disco tendencies, yet are kept far from the glitter, by Ramon's super tough beats and basslines. Belfast duo Jet Project step up to put their touch on You Got To (Keep Movin). The guys have rapidly built a reputation with a string of strong releases for the likes of VIVa, Darkroom Dubs, Intimacy, Mija, Get Physical and their very own Extended Play imprint, and today bring their brand of Irish percussive muscle to Snatch! Another fantastic release, and once again proof, as if it were needed, that we all love a good bit of Snatch!
