Slowly but surely Spencer Parker's Work Them label has been gaining a deserved reputation as a no nonsense house and techno imprint thanks to releases from the likes of Pittsburgh Track Authority and Dana Ruh. Now it's the turn of the s:VT who serves up one track, Basement Sweat, complete with a remix, which will then be followed by a separate 12" featuring two remixes from Arttu.
The original track pairs classic, piled-on-top-of-each other claps with a freewheeling melody that runs up and down the scale. The bottom end is streamlined and techno inclined, bringing with it plenty of raw warehouse vibes. The No Strings Attached mix loses the melody and ups the percussive ante, chopping up and slicing out patterns as that bottom end continues to burrow on.
