Following a string of acclaimed singles, FD is set to release his second album, From The Ashes, on December 12th via The North Quarter. Spanning 14 tracks, its his most expressive and adventurous project yet, weaving together his signature Drum & Bass with ambient soundscapes, 140 explorations, and dubbed-out electronica a testament to both his versatility and his refusal to be confined by expectation.

The album emerged after a period where FD felt drained of inspiration, following several EPs. That changed with the creation of What I Needed a track that broke with past formulas and re-sparked his creativity. I decided to write exactly what I wanted, not to take any outside influence into consideration, FD explains. After feeling so devoid of inspiration or a direction that felt right and honest, From The Ashes came to me as a title, and it felt very fitting.

At its core, From The Ashes is rooted in Drum & Bass, but it stretches outwards into new territory. Collaborations provide some of the albums most compelling highlights: the rolling groove of Trife Life with Fox, the shimmering analog tones of Cold Neon with Lenzman, the rugged dancefloor energy of Gorilla Glue with Cronic, and the Neo soul-fused Sweet Self Destruction with London artist Minx. The album closes with If I Never? alongside DRS, a reflective piece that embodies the records emotional honesty. In between, tracks like Dragon Fruit, Impulse Power, and LBW (Lil Bass Wobbler) underline FDs ability to shift between introspection and dancefloor firepower, while outside-the-box cuts expand his palette into entirely fresh terrain.

More than just a collection of tracks, the album is a statement of intent. In an era driven by singles and fleeting trends, FD embraces the album format as a space to build something deeper. For me, an album gives the chance to really dig in to a direction to make art for arts sake, not just write bangers and get sucked into the homogenisation of dance music. Its a chance to bare your soul and show who you are, he says.

With From The Ashes, FD does exactly that rising with a body of work that signals resilience, renewal, and a bold step into his most complete artistic vision to date.
