Marco Antonio Spaventi is a close associate of the M>O>S Recordings crew and here returns for his fifth outing on the label. This time, though, he assumes the Spaventi D'Azzurro, moniker for the first time since a remix back in 2012.
The Italian DJ and producer offers two versions of the same track. 'Lonely (JerkOff Mix)' is a bristling brew of sharp acid, groaning voices and molten synth lines that all wrap and warp around each other as a mid-tempo house beat kicks below. It's dead-of-night lose-your-shit kind of stuff where the Crunchy Club Mix is a more inviting and pretty affair, here the melodies rise like a heat haze on the horizon as various other chords and claps colour in the groove. Things take a turn into dirtiness at the half way point before switching into a lo-fi disco vibe - impressive stuff, as ever, from Spaventi.
