Tash's Movement Limited rounds out the month of June by welcoming Abity to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Argentina, José Duque and Bruno Signorelli make up the Abity production team. The Rosario natives have been collaborating and creating their brand of progressive music for well over a decade. Laying claim to a discography of close to 300 credits, the Nick Warren favourites have showcased their music via Clubsonica, Higher States, Or Two Strangers, The Soundgarden and Univack. Also finding a home on Movement Recordings, the duo made their label debut last month with ‘Blomp', a track recorded alongside fellow countryman Mattias Herrera which highlighted the fifteenth installment of the Technical Progress compilation series. Now, continuing their creative partnership with Movement, Abity makes their much anticipated debut on the label's Limited division with ‘Adenochrome'.
The first selection ‘Bubble' finds Abity crafting a peak-time melodic number that's nicely suited for those uplifting dancefloor moments. Shapeshifting arpeggiated sequences forecast a hypnotic yet immediately danceable vibe, while glowing pads instantly command your attention across the break. Coming to full friction during the interlude, it's a subtle rise in tension and anticipation that showcases Abity's veteran dynamics, eventually culminating in a classy trance-inspired finale.
The hypnotic sounds of ‘Adenochrome' steal the air and present an emotive monochrome within Abity's repertoire, as charged beats, rebounding rhythms and effervescent effects converge for a narrative that is equal parts smooth and glowing. Advancing the journey further across the break, it's a set of melodic fragments which emerges, set against a backdrop of meditative arps, before smoothly segueing into a finale of hypnotic bliss.
Rounding out the release are the prophetic sounds of ‘The Blair Witch Project'. Instantly seductive, its brooding tonal themes and haunted vocal manipulations deliver the primary flow, while rolling rhythmic structures and mesmerizing machine progressions push each other into a whirlpool of spiralling emotions, making for a uniquely crafted track that's perfect for those darker dancefloor moments.
