Tash's Movement Limited welcomes C-Jay and Yves Eaux to the label for their debut single. Hailing from the Netherlands C-Jay has been a fixture of the electronic underground for well over two decades. Appearances on classic progressive house imprints such as Cyber Records and Vapour Recordings solidified C-Jay's place amongst the genre's elite early on in his career. Highlighting his discography however is his more recent work for John Digweed's Bedrock Records and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. Meanwhile, also hailing from the Netherlands is Yves Eaux who has enjoyed similar success across his fifteen year career. Early releases via Baroque, Little Mountain and Vapour, along with performing alongside the likes of Joris Voorn and Sasha, have more than etched Yves' place in progressive house history. Having worked together previously on ‘Move 37', a track released as part of Sudbeat's popular Showcrates series, C-Jay and Yves now join forces once again, making their Movement Limited debut with ‘Strapatsen', alongside a remix from Brisker and Magitman.
With 'Strapatsen' the duo continues to explore the groovy progressive blueprints from which they have made their names. A DJ friendly intro sets the pace for swing heavy rhythms and panoramic melodies to layer a warm, chunky bassline. Carving out a fluid path into the break, anticipation is high as deconstructed vocals, emotive melodies and wispy cascades highlight a well-crafted interlude, building tension and emotion throughout, before a tastefully restrained drop seals a groove-centric finale.
The release concludes with Brisker and Magitman providing the lone interpretation of ‘Strapatsen'. After forming their creative partnership over two decades ago, Israeli artists Brisker and Magitman have been occasional studio partners ever since. Releases via Beat Boutique, Plastic Fantastic, and Proton Music, amongst others, have showcased the duo's borderless club-effective sound, a sonic aesthetic which has stood the test of time remarkably well. With offerings via Mode Rhythm Records highlighting the duo's 2024 schedule, Brisker and Magitman now continue their joint studio efforts into 2025 with a groovy take on ‘Strapatsen'. Bringing a timeless state of mind, the duo reassembles the themes from the original for their own uniquely hypnotic approach. Smooth and cruising throughout, it's a narrative of timely effects, haunting motifs and shapeshifting melodies which coax perfectly atop precise kick drums and charged grooves, for what results in a tasteful rendition that's perfect for an early morning dancefloor.
