Aendlex is a solo project started in 2007 by an artist based on the outskirts of Rome. It began as a personal way to process emotions through analog equipment and tape loops. The music combines cosmic synth patterns, field recordings from industrial areas, and influences from 1970s Italian experimental music. There are no digital tools here, only physical instruments like reel-to-reel machines, damaged effects pedals, and random accidents during recording.
The new album "Anedonia" (White Forest Inc., 2025) reveals the true beginnings of the project. It was recorded live in 2009 using a Tascam 4-track machine. These two long tracks show Aendlex’s early sound before he started using modern studio techniques. Listeners will hear the natural degradation of magnetic tape, the hum of amplifiers mixed with improvised melodies played on an old Omnichord, and the urgent creativity of an artist still developing his own style.
