GIULIA (IT) is an Italian artist making her Respekt debut following successful releases on other influential record labels ranging from The YellowHeads' Reload to Victor Ruiz's VOLTA. Her style is an adrenaline-fuelled mix of fast-paced percussion, dark atmosphere and invigorating synth lines.
Her music has already been supported by the likes of Carl Cox, and this two-track release is another fine example of her dance floor orientated style.
'Sahara' opens the release with a slamming kick drum and electrifying bassline, which forms a foundation for epic vocal chants, spiralling pads and dramatic acid stabs.
'Distraction' has a pounding kick drum and rumbling bassline immersed in ethereal pads and tense atmospherics. The thickset lead synth and mesmerising vocals build euphoric suspense in the breakdown, before the drums hit back in to deliver the knockout punch.
