For the next Unspace release, Coefficient returns with four tracks of space inspired deep techno music. The concept of this EP explores the maximum phase of the 11 year solar cycle, where the Sun’s magnetic activity is at it’s highest, with each of the four tracks representing physical processes of the energetic solar environment.

The high staccato tones and evolving analog pings of the opening track Surface Inertia are representative of the twisting filaments of magnetic activity near the Sun’s tumultuous surface. The punchy bassline and sonic textures create a classic Detroit inspired techno cut.

Concentric Torsion Fields further explores the atmospheric layers of our Sun, with acidic bleeps and filtered bass tightly syncopated over a heavy club kick. Synthetic percussion and spatial tones create movement over metallic pads and drones.

Ablating Comets features decaying bleeps and tonal elements which ebb and flow over a solid kick drum and synth bass. The swingy 909 hi-hats and cymbals add groove and dynamics, while analog synths bubble and weave tonally and expressively depicting the decay of comets as they approach the Sun.

Glitchy electronics and minimal abstract timbres are explored with the closing track Plasma Knots. Floating pads and airy synth delays are used to represent solar matter being twisted and warped by the Sun’s intense magnetic fields.
