Rebirth is proud to present Agoria's beautiful track 'For One Hour' featuring Scalde for a release in 2013 !
Ten years since his debut and critically acclaimed album release, 'Blossom' on PIAS recordings, Sebastien Devaud, aka Agoria is still growing and has become a true pioneer of his style. His original epic metamorphosis of dub and acid takes techno beyond where it started. His four albums (also to mention 'The Green Armchair' 2006, soundtrack 'Go Fast' 2008 and 'Impermanence' 2011) elevated him to cult status and Resident Advisor named his 'At The Controls'release in the top 20 best of the decade (2000-2010). His production techniques have collided with an army of notorious artists including Tricky, Neneh Cherry and Ann Saunderson.
Apart from his own work as a DJ and producer, Sebastien Devaud has also helped to establish Nuits Sonores, an ambitious electronic and indie event that takes place all over the city of Lyon every Spring and has, over the last ten years, become one of the best European festivals.
Another important contribution he made was creating the infamous imprint InFine' in 2006, before he left to concentrate on new musical directions. InFine' was a label that followed no rules, shied away from trends and featured young and new talents from various parts of the world.
Originally released by InFine' in 2010 and a classic in the sets of Ame and Dixon, 'For One Hour' features the amazing vocals from Scalde, complemented by a soaring violin, dessicated horns and Agoria's typically rhythm pattern. Epic and elegant.
The package include new mixes from Oxia, Paradis, Jack Dixon and Kosme.
The Parisian duo Paradis follow their release on Tim Sweeney's Beats In Space with a very special remix, a late-night melancholic and sophisticated reinterpretation with soaring vocals,an effective synth lead, and a deep bass to die for. Man of the moment Jack Dixon strips back the vibe of the original in an entirely different direction, focusing on drums, bass and vocal snippets to create a peak-time dub version. Oxia delivers a special reprise version exclusive for the vinyl release, while Kosme gives us a weird trippy mix with a solid drum pattern, reminding the old Basic Channel vibe.
More mixes from Michael Mayer and Villanova will follow later in the year.
