For the 21st release by FRI, Freudenthaler takes a stylistic excursion, exploring the territories of rumbling acid sounds, resulting in the 4-track EP 'Wuanga.' Here, Freudenthaler demonstrates that he is not a stranger to analog sound, predominantly relying on the acid 303 and analog bass sequences, thus maintaining his gritty signature sound.
What defines this EP is an interesting blend of various stylistic elements and ideas, such as African-themed percussion rhythms and vocal chants combined with square bass and warm synths on tracks like 'Wuanga' and 'Jungle Rumble'. While achieving nostalgic analog warmth on 'Pingball,' the neurotic acid bass sequences on the track 'Trip' create a bridge between acid house and psychedelia.
