Transatlantic: from calm to storm
Transatlantic is a story of a long and unpredictable navigation in the blue waters, Pavel Kamakin says
The original idea belongs to Pavel Kamakin, the art director of the oldest Russian club 16 Tons, who is also a famous promoter and yachtsman. It happened to be one of the first collaborations of Svoboda Zvuka.
This open kitchen brought together about 10 people. One of the versions shines with a cool solo by the great trumpeter Vadim Zaydin and a tripped out Rhodes part by Valique. The other one is graced by entrancing vocals of Lena Kaufman bringing back the vibes and tones of Maya Khristalinskaya - the famous female singer of the USSR times. The best definition of this particular record style that comes to mind is modern 'craft' electronic kraut-fusion. What will be your own definition?
