Eppers is the artist name of Daniel Eppers, a 25-year-old house music obsessive from Cologne. His journey started making beats on an Akai MPC in 2016. Since the pandemic, he's been working in Ableton and this year decided he was ready to contact labels. When he looked at his Spotify listening, most of the stuff he liked was on Glasgow Underground. So he sent us, and no one else, his first demo. Now, while we wouldn't advise other artists to do the same, we were blown away by this obvious sign of passion for our label. The demo was rough but had some real magic about it, so Kevin McKay got involved in helping finish it off. The vocals come from Nashville's Notelle. Her voice has 10s of millions of streams on Spotify, but it's unlikely you will know her name because they mostly come from her sample pack work. We love what she does and, hopefully, we can do a little bit to change that. "On My Own" is a killer deep house jam with a bassline to die for. Add to that Notelle's beguiling vocal hook, and this is one we will be listening to for a long time to come.
