Tiello is part of a new wave of producers and DJs hailing from the city and delivers his debut release on Applied Magic with 3 impeccable and very personal tracks.
"Crabtree" was the first one he sent us, and from the first moment on it was clear that this had to be released. Taking cues from an obscure thought experiment (Crabtree's Bludgeon – google it if you want to have your mind warped), it is at the same time silky smooth and sharp as a razor. Not an easy feat to accomplish!
"If I knew Then" is the most uptempo track of the bunch and will certainly do damage when played at the right time. Once again striking the right balance between rough and sweet, the intricate arrangement and perfect build-up will surely turn some heads.
"Truth" is a poetic and timeless piece, showcasing Tiello's trademark warped percussions, pastoral chord structures, and a keen eye for the little details. A track to fully immerse yourself and get lost in.
This time, the artwork was created by Mirjam Schmid, who lovingly integrated Tiello's vision into her own parallel reality, full of advanced symbolism and off-kilter humor. A perfect match!
