The Weston & Engine Siyahamba EP is a representation of the deeper tones of (WE) amalgamating the African rhythms infused with the warm tones of European inspired sounds. Siyahamba directly translated means Marching in the light of God. A story told through the dictaphone of atmospheric sounds and key samples used in both tracks recorded in the CBD of Pretoria and Johannesburg. To infuse this beautiful piece we have Rory Cochrane with his remix elaborating a universal story heard throughout time.
Build a Bridge:
Written in the midst of the pandemic 2020 Build a bridge represents a testament to moving forward and getting over obstacles. This euphoric and uplifting piece breaks down warm atmospheric sounds coupled with rolling drums and married with African vocals.
The Passenger:
Inspired by the experience of the traveller in Southern Africa utilizing the means of local taxis in the CBD's of Pretoria and Johannesburg, the passenger represents the nostalgia of travelling to and back from home accompanied by township grooves and warm basslines.
