A new year, a new chapter in the history of Statement! Music! In the last couple of years, the label has been focussing on progressive in the broadest way, and to express that feeling even more, we are proud to present to you a new imprint: Statement! Deep.

Melodic, deep, touching and progressive at it's finest, with a string of amazing tunes already lined up for you. The very first release is an exciting one, we have Naz, who is making her debut to the label with a double A side ep.

Now, there is a little bit of a story behind this single.. 2020 has been the year of lockdowns, where clubs closed and festivals got cancelled. This resulted in DJ's finding different ways to interact with their fanbase and showcase their talents online.
Twitch has been the best platform in these weird times, creating a 'home' for artists and fans to connect, and pull each-other through rough moments.

Our very own Rodg has been one of those artists that has been consistently streaming a variety of streams over the last several months, and the highlight of the week are his 'Rodg Factor' streams. Aspiring artists can submit demo's to Rodg, and he will deliver feedback, and the chat can give their opinions too. Out of the many submissions in these 'Rodg Factor' streams, one talent really stood out with some unique tracks.

That talented producer is Naz from Australia, who is currently living in Amsterdam, and is about to celebrate her first release ever on Statement! Deep. Voodoo / Lost is a double EP with two, tried-and-tested vocal melodic techno tunes, where Naz is really making a Statement! showing the world she is ready to take over the progressive scene.

Naz:

'I made Voodoo at the beginning of the year and then kind of left it for a few months because I just didn't like the direction it was going in. I revisited it after a while and that's when the melody came into my head and it just sort of fit and so I went from there. I was still really unsure about it though because I wasn't really sure what genre I would even call this... it was a bit different. But then from the early days of dropping it on Rodg's Demo Streams and then Rodg playing it on his Friday night streams and seeing the reaction from people, it really took me by surprise!'

Asking about her motivation:

'What really motivated me was that I wanted to see more female artists in the industry, especially in the progressive and melodic scene. My aim when starting was to try and bring something new and interesting to the table and to also define a 'sound' for mysel. In five years I would hopefully have that established 'Naz' sound that is recognised, pushing boundaries with genres and style and sound design, and connecting with people all over the world along with my Statement! family.'
