The always excellent Dan Wainwright drops ‘Rituals’, a three track offering of mutant disco sounds on Night Noise Music backed with a remixes from Joe Morris, this June.

With a catalogue that takes in edits for To Rack and Ruin and Creative Use as well as singles for the likes of Hungarian Hot Wax and Through God’s Own Eyes, Wainwright is steadily becoming a must-check for those who enjoy lower tempo nightclub sounds of a discoid nature and this EP, already given ALFOS approval by Sean Johnston, shows why.

Opening with the anthemic ‘Raindance’, a growling groover characterised with bright, evolving synth hooks and tight delays which culminates in balearic guitar bliss, ‘Rituals’ is a winner straight out of the traps. ‘A Blessing’, a slightly moodier, heads down tunneller follows with a distinctly housey vibe while ‘Ceremony’ treads an altogether headier path with dense layering giving way to ethereal vocals and a punchy, nagging bassline. Joe Morris’ Dubwise remix of ‘Rain Dance’ closes out the package in, as the title suggests, nifty dubbed out style.

‘Rituals’ is released on 5th June 2020 on Night Noise Music
