As we take a moment to reflect on the early foundations in our rich musical history, we can see the motion, feel the rhythms as we allow our spirit to absorb the many colors this amazing genre called house music reveals to us. One cannot truly understand the foundation that house stands upon without having a deep appreciation for the earth%u2019s tones. Beyond our earliest civilizations communication with percussion, we note that our second most notable form of communications came through ivory, brass, wood, aluminum, and steel. Newark%u2019s Jazz foundation is undisputed and heralded as one of the most important city%u2019s devoted to this genre.
%u201CIt%u2019s in the Soil%u201D
One thing that remains consistent is that Newark, New Jersey consistently blesses the world with great singers. Having said all of that, it is sincerely a blessing to be able to work with an artist like Keisha Hall. Her vocal talent and experience is remarkable. Her discovery in hybrid vocal technics and tones have been acquired through decades of performances and her crafted characterizations wonderfully honoring greats like Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday, Dinah Washington, Angela Bofill, and Phylis Hyman. Logan and I have waited over 5 years for this amazing opportunity and we sincerely hope our community across the world will enjoy this landmark release.
