CON013 | 2019-11-07
CON013 presents the debut release from Cambridge local Pinney, not that you could tell from his undeniable production prowess. Kaito, a Japanese name meaning Sea, Ocean; Soar, Fly couldn't be more applicable to this EP, with three tracks as powerful and unrelenting as the elements it's named for.

The title track presents a dreamy, airy soundscape with a peak-time drive to it. This track has its own pulse, beating away beneath an infectious, relentless stab that flies through the breaks while everything else falls back to Earth, only to charge back with an unrelenting energy.

Kaesa is straight up tough.
This tsunami chugs along with glitching percussion weaving through heavy bass elements. Ghostly vocal licks are spread sporadically throughout the arrangement giving the track an eerie tone.

Kaito receives a top shelf rework from French maestro Mancini. Breathing new life into the title track, Mancini lifts the energy from the outset with fast-paced, swinging hats and a stabby bass line.
