"Take a Stand" aims to remind citizens from around the world that they
have the power, the right, and the duty to shape the destiny of
themselves, their country, and the world around them.
Turning a blind eye to problems which seem outside of ourselves never
leads to solutions. Most political systems create apathy among their
citizens causing them to lose hope, be lazy, and just accept the
status quo. But change is upon us and it's time to wake up and take a
stand! It's a lie that we live in a democracy, we live in a
capitalist society where we vote into office politicians who claim
they have our best interests at heart, but the lobbyists representing
big businesses fund the politicians to make changes that benefit their
best interests, not ours. The time has arrived to end corruption and
rid our political system of dishonesty and greed.
The Occupy Wall Street movement has started an American revolution,
and it's growing by the day. What started with under 1,000 people in
Liberty Square in New York protesting AGAINST social and political
inequality, corporate greed, and the influence of corporate money in
government, has spread like wildfire to more than a 1,000 cities
across our country, and it's still growing!
People must realize that nothing will change unless we start fighting
for a better world, peacefully yet mightily. Citizens of the US
along with Global citizens must continue to fight for their rights
until we realize the change our Constitution set forth. We can and
will make a difference!
100% of the proceeds collected from "Take a
Stand" will go to support the Alliance for Global Justice, who support
the needs of the Occupy Wall Street initiative.
