The next release on Roush Label comes from Italian tag-team, Luigi Rocca and RUDE. Their ‘Lagger Master’ EP consists of three fresh original cuts, loaded with plenty of contemporary tech house flavours and geared perfectly for the dancefloor. The title track opens the show with blistering pace. Piercing drums and sharp hat rhythms are accompanied by a rough and groovy bassline, tied up nicely with offbeat percussion, vocal and synth injections. Expect big buildups with huge amounts of energy and hammering drops. ‘Matto Grosso’ follows up with a more deep tech feel, the kind of stuff that Luigi is well known for with his 303Lovers imprint. An essentially sophisticated number with lots of tasty low-frequency action driven throughout. Don’t get too relaxed, though, as the transitions will sneak up on you out of nowhere with their unexpected extremities. Finally, ‘The Switch’ reverts back to uptempo tech, driven by its emphasis on percussion and groove. Heavyset kicks and a rumbling sub bounce the track along nicely, being supplemented by subtle melodic hits and a catchy vocal kook.
