WILLER

Hong Kong based DJ & producer Willer turned to electronic music production after a lifetime as a musician – primarily as a drummer.

Willer has quickly established himself as one of Hong Kong’s best known DJs, as full time resident at Cassio, Hong Kong’s most prestigious music venue.

Willer is also the Creative Director and Resident of Spin Sum, a group that has been hosting parties and events in Hong Kong for over 3 years, and has hosted international talent such as Damian Lazarus, Floyd Lavine, Hyenah and Yokoo. Since taking over Spin Sum in early 2020 Willer has transformed the group into one of the most popular electronic music platforms in Hong Kong. As the creative force behind Spin Sum, the events have become colourful mixing pots of dance, music, performance, and expression. In addition, as host of the Spin Sum Podcast, Willer has been connecting with some of the most interesting names in Asia’s music scene.

His first EP "Garden of Life" has been tested for months in Willer’s sets, across Hong Kong, in Cassio, and as far back as Wonderfruit, in the fall of 2019. The EP is set for release on United Music Records in late 2021, with a range of carefully produced tracks that collaborate with an array of exciting vocalists and musicians.

The first single to be released is “Split Second”, which MixMag Asia describes as a “superb balance of club-friendly vocals and melodics together with an afro-tech house framework that gives ‘Split Second’ that organic feel. Pulsating low synths ride effortlessly alongside a stark mix of electronic and organic percussion, and there’s no doubt that Willer had his favourite-peak-time-at-3am-hour peak time in mind when shuffling between studios across Hong Kong.”
The release includes remixes from Spanish heavyweight producer Kiko Navarro who delivers 5 exceptional versions of the track.

Will is no rookie in the electronic music scene with supporting performances all over Asia alongside world-renowned talents such as Damian Lazarus, Rampa, Claptone, &ME, Viken Arman, Timboletti, Yokoo, Floyd Lavine, Hyenah, Sebo K, Marco Resmann, Kenny Glasgow, Oxia, Ryan Crosson , Parralels & Dee Montero.

Now, with production that lines Willer alongside the likes of Kiko Navarro, the many facets of his music career are pushing him forward into exciting new places.
