Cristian, aka Obi Baby, immediately revealed himself to be an atypical DJ on the Italian scene; eclectic, creative, unpredictable... a bomb of energy and passion for music that he has been able to cultivate, creating over the years one of the most active staffs in Italy: Pervert group.
Pervert is an adventure born 28 years ago. Opened in a club for couples in love, near the columns of San Lorenzo in Milan, it has evolved into the legendary nights that we all remember today as P:gold, P:diamond, P:Color, Sodoma, Electro:punk, Trinity, Peepshow. Obi also exported his club concept to his beloved London with parties at Heaven (one of the biggest gay clubs in Europe), Café de Paris and Turnmills, Fire and Beyond, London's most famous after-hours club. Also in Spain, and more precisely in Ibiza, Obi has enjoyed playing in locations such as Privilege (the biggest disco in the world). But it is in Italy that Obi has concentrated his efforts. In the early 2000s he threw one of the most controversial parties this city has ever known. The P:Gold; Pervert Gold. The party was very popular and Obi started to design his own clothing line and the phenomenon spread like wildfire... it became a fashion.
Cristian is currently working on his favourite night: Sodom. Born in the famous Hollywood in C.so Como, it was first revised and corrected at Magazzini Generali as SODOMA Visionaire. While in 2012 it inaugurated the season as SODOMA Vaempire, gaining great public acclaim. SODOMA also landed in the Balearic Islands and more precisely in Formentera, bringing its formula of transgression and good music to an international level.
2017 was also the return of P:Gold, which attracted thousands of people to the place where it was born, the De Sade, currently the Gate Club. In 2020, Obi will launch his own record label under the name PERVHERTZ. This label will be responsible for promoting young Italian and international talents who propose the sound closest to the Pervert nights.
Obi has worked in the main "institutional" clubs in Italy, including: Cocoricò, Mazoom, Alter Ego, Fluid, Clorophilla, Guendalina, Cromie, Pascià, Kama Kama, La Canniccia, La Gare, Lo Chalet, La Capannina, Prince, Marabù, Qube, CrossOver, Hollywood, Rolling Stone, Magazzini Generali, Amnesia etc playing alongside international artists such as Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Dj Hell, Dave Clarke, Luciano, Steve Lawler , John Digweed and Sasha, Marco Carola, The Orb, Paul Kalkbrenner etc.
Musically, Obi is perhaps best labelled as 'crossover'.
He spans the cycles and recycles of house and techno music and each of his sets is full of contamination, charged and energetic.
