This particularly groovey EP is not typical deep house but abstract, chunky (but funky) beats, hard edged disco tweaked with jackin’ Chicago percussion. ‘Chinese Pleasures’ is a relentlessly funky confection that barely pauses for breath in its assault on all the major pleasure centres. ‘Clause 1’ a different but hypnotic groove that keeps on building and finally ‘Funk Spirit’ a potent mix of horns and percussion that rounds things off in style.
