From sunny Israel comes UPZ, a soul project combining soul, R&B and Afro-Carib elements on top of house & urban grooves. UPZ features a host of talented artists originating from all four corners of the globe and now based in Israel….combine that with our biblical landscapes & hot Mediterranean vibe and you get the perfect backdrop for UPZ’s musical concept.

UPZ is also spearheading Israel’s soul scene with energetic shows combining live instrumentation & vocals, as well as soulful party lines. UPZ have released tracks with Cr2, Look At You, Faderz & Camio and have forthcoming tracks on Bubble Soul, Farplane, Soulfuric and Refunkt.

Avi Elman, who stands behind the project, was born in Israel of mixed Turkish & Iraqi descent and raised in Kenya & South Africa where he developed a passion for Jazz & African grooves as well as being active in various live acts. Upon his return to Israel in 1997, he picked up the art of production and set up a recording studio in Tel-Aviv, Israel’s cultural centre.
