Patrik Carrera is a producer and live act based in Berlin - developing dramatic modular based expressions via the labels of Mark Broom (Beardman), Developer (Modularz) and his own imprint (Paranoid Dancer).
His astute approach to composition and sound is firmly rooted in the analog domain, working with a modular system alongside an extensive list of vintage and modern hardware synthesizers, drum machines and processing gear encapsulating Carrera’s expressive, experimental and emotive nature in each recording.
Carrera’s productions have gained high praise and support from key figures within the electronic music community who have long been personal references and inspirations, the likes of Mark Broom, Developer, Tensal, Jonas Kopp, Pfriter, Alexander Kowalski, Norman Nodge, Ben Sims, Shlomi Aber, Truncate, Samuli Kemppi, Gregor Tresher, Shifted, Joachim Spieth.
Born in Sydney, with parents from Ecuador and Germany he relocated back to the birth country of his mother where places like Berghain and Tresor are a constant source of inspiration as he continues to develop his own creative expressions through each release and now his focus on live performance.
Carrera sites other influences that span the arts and most of the musical spectrum, and coupled with his past experiences as a club booker, record store music buyer, audio engineer - all have granted him different enriching experiences and perspectives that he carries with him and applies to every expression.
