Ahead of his debut Australian tour, the Italian maestro WAVEBACK returns to our catalog and treats us to his latest EP 'Faraway'. Featuring remixes from our very own BONGANI and ALEGRA, out on Thursday November 30.
Waveback has quite a distinctive style residing somewhere restlessly in between Brazilian, minimal and twisted progressive techno. Having worked with artists such as Plastic Robots, FlexB, MATAN CASPI, Groove Delight and Thayana Valle - he is clocking up the achievements quite quickly.
Faraway is equipped with an uplifting euphoria throughout the breakdown, building to a sinuous ultimatum compiled with stabs, breaks and plenty of body wobble.
Bongani then put his signature no-nonsense minimal techno spin on the original, driven by the heavy weight of the kick and razor sharp percussions - both honouring and complementing the original nicely with his tight and delicate remix.
Here we also welcome another debutant to our family, the wonder-gun Alegra who is literally in a league of his own. If music is beautiful, then his unique musical style and own direction is the definition. He has put such an amazing spin on the original, taking us on a journey, telling his story and demonstrating his level of production that in our opinion - we consider world class.
