For the second release on Lo:Rise Martin Ikin aka Soul Purpose steps up the mark to deliver a two-track EP of deep, disco-tinged house. ‘Breakdown for Love’ is a cover of a track made famous through Daft Punk’s sample-happy production techniques, and he delivers the hip-shaking goods in emphatically danceable fashion, while ‘Sublim3’ is a bass-focused groover with superb rhythmic vocal interjections and heavy hi-hat work.
