Goldboy is next up on Situationism with his brand new EP “South Facing”. This fella you will recognise from Midnight Riot releases & his recent EP on Black Riot alongside others.
Goldboy is no stranger to Situationism as he delivered a brilliant remix for us on the recent Les Chevaliers solex release “ La Vache de dense" (SITU008) which got charted by Daft Punk and also featured on the Nang ‘Beach Disco Vol. 8' compilation this summer.
“South Facing” is a 3 track EP that explores Goldboys deep house, disco fusion style to create this beautiful next Ep up on Situationism.
'Four Walls & a Roof' starts the EP off with a slamming yet slinky groove, heavily 80’s influenced with a great breakdown followed with funky brass riffs taking you deeper into that disco bounce. Big pads & haunting vocal meander & build to great crescendos throughout.
Situation come at 'Four Walls & a Roof' from their own unique angle, giving you a more bumping, broken deep house, organ driven remix.
The third track “Dream Garden” grooves you with some marching conga driven beats taking you into a blissful garden of delights driven with a simple electro bassline building to a clav funked workout.
Ending with the title track “South Facing Shuffle” that is an irresistible quirky journey through cleverly arpeggiated synths & rolling beats with funky live bass & complex layers of brass stabs & guitar to mesmerise & satisfy.
