It’s the same old story, we’ve heard it over and over and over and over again: If you want to succeed in this world, get the big bucks, get rich, have the house/car/watch/significant other of your dreams, the answer is HARD WORK! If you don’t have those things? What’s the reason? YOU’RE NOT WORKING HARD ENOUGH DAMMIT! YOU’RE LAZY! And yet… What’s more fun? Working in a cube 24/7, getting those fat stacks, or driving a bus in Ibiza 10kph slower than the speed limit shuffling tourists around occasionally during the busy season? Lounging by a pool 80% of the time, working 20% of the time? Or the reverse? These are the eternal questions. Is it better to be poor in a fantastic place with someone you love, or be rich and never enjoy all that life has to offer? We certainly don’t know the answer, that’s for sure. But for what it’s worth, The Bearded Man chose his path, and spoiler alert, it wasn’t in the banking industry. Some people save up all year to go on vacation where he lives, and he just lives there. Beard out, gut out, drink out. Is it the right way? Probably not. Is it the lazy way? Yep. Is it his way? Mos def. Is he also rich? Sadly, yes. There will always be outliers in this world. Here’s to the rich AND lazy - they truly have it all.
