01. Dance Warriors
02. Dance Warriors (Riva Starr Remix)
03. Dance Warriors (Claudio Coccoluto Remix)
D-Floor Music is a record label dedicated to House music that’s been set up by Italian artists Leon and NiCe7.
The new D-Floor release is from Malandra Jr. who boasts previous releases on labels including Click Records, Diynamic and Cocoon.
Malandra Jr. returns to the label after his solo EP in June 2016 titled This Is A Blow EP. On the aforementioned release was a track called “Dance Warriors” that has recently had a massive resurgence in popularity due to heavy support from Solomun, who for the last six months has closed nearly all of his DJ sets with the track.
With Solomun being one of the world’s most popular and best known club DJ’s, the track has been played to crowds of thousands nearly every weekend, and to many a dance warrior, has become something of an anthem.
Having achieved anthemic status, the label have decided to re-release 'Dance Warriors' as a single with fresh reworks from Snatch! Records boss Riva Starr and Italian legend Claudio Coccoluto.
Riva Starr is an Italian born artist who now lives in London when not jetting between international gigs. Having played everywhere from Glastonbury to Tommorrowland, he even boasts opening sets for Jamiroquai.
More than just a headline club spinner, Riva Starr is also a producer who has featured music on labels including Moon Harbour, Cajual, Hot Creations and Crosstown Rebels to mention only a few.
Claudio Coccoluto is a stalwart of the Italian music scene who boasts a record collection consisting of over 70,000 vinyls! Having started his career on pirate radio stations, he has gone on to play everywhere from BBC Radio 1 to the MTV Music Awards, and in his career has even featured on the front cover of DJ Mag UK (1997) and DJ Mag Italy (2011).
People new to Electronic music might not instantly recognise Claudio Coccoluto, but to anyone knowing the history of world DJ culture, he needs no introduction.
The original's low slung vibe and melodic groove fused with an infectious vocal, has already proved a winning combination and the two new versions have breathed fresh life into the track.
Riva Starr has swapped the low slung pads for a rolling groove and reworked his version into a straight up House stomper, which makes the end of the night original a peak time anthem.
Claudio Coccoluto opts for quirky percussion, adding some tribal grooves and just a touch of jazz to his free flowing remix that’s tailor made for the Ibiza terraces and sun drenched dancefloors.
