Papa Records are extremely excited to be kicking off 2004 with a stunning release from Osunlade. Same Thing is an earthy rhythmic affair with enchanting drums and dreamy melodic keys centred around the beautiful voice of miss Maiya James who gently caresses your senses from head to toe with her soulful sounds.

Osunlade is one of the most exciting producers to emerge over the last five years, but he didn%u2019t appear overnight. Since the age of seven, music has been the creative outlet for this self-taught musician, but it wasn't until the late 80's that his talent would be noticed professionally. From TV's Sesame Street, to a lengthy production career in the early 90's, Osunlade's talents have been sought after by artists as diverse Cape Verde's diva Cesaria Evora and nu soul singer India Arie, as well as an array of remix work for artists Astor Piazolla, Zero 7 and Me'Shell Ndegeocello to name just a few. He has produced all genres of music from Salif Kieta to Patti LaBelle, and with featured productions and remixes on BBE, Central Park, Ultimate Dilemma, Far Out, Talkin Loud and Def Jam this artist, producer, musician and songwriter has gained a following of music lovers worldwide and has kept the love and integrity of music as his focus.

In 1999 Osunlade set up his Yoruba Records label as an outlet for his productions and made an instant impact with timeless dance classics such as 'Power To Conquer' from the 'Latina Cafe' 12" and Erro's 'Don't Change', which was then picked up by Joey Negro's Z Records and is still causing dance floor devastation to this day. This was followed by his debut album 'Paradigm' which was released in 2002 on Soul Jazz, and has seen Osunlade cement his reputation not only as a producer and musician of some note, but also a very exciting DJ, playing to large crowds all over the globe. In 2003 Osunlade relocated to Puerto Rico where he is taking a break from DJing to start work on the follow up to his debut album.

Teaming up with Osunlade for the first time, London vocalist Maiya James has collaborated with many artistes such as the Japanese outfit Kyoto Jazz Massive, Phil Asher, East West Connection, Samson and Mark de Clive-Lowe%u2026. indeed a voice to be reckoned with!

Papa Records on YouTube is the home of UK deep and soulful house music, including Sebb Junior, Saison, The Realm, The Layabouts, Tony Momrelle and many more.
