Rey & Kjavik is a Frankfurt am Main raised, born and based artist and musician. He has worked with top notch labels such as Get Physical, Compost Black, Katermukke and Exploited, and runs his own label and clothing brand RKJVK. ‘Akya’ draws inspiration from his DJ travels in Istanbul and beyond. The resulting mix of throbbing bass, head spinning synths and chants will leave you in little wonder why he’s considered one of Germany’s most exciting new producers. 
His sound was always house music in all its forms, purely instrumental or with own vocals, hip-hop and oriental elements. The gig at The Kazbah-stage at his first Burning Man festival and the following US tour marked a spiritual change for the life, mind and sound of Rey & Kjavik. He started with the recording of his first album -out on Katermukke later this year- that is inspired from these travels and the special atmosphere of cities like San Francisco and Istanbul. His tracks have a global sound, relaxed and creating a tension at the same time. He played over 90 shows in the last 12 months which makes him a nomad of modern times, one of the fastest rising artists in the house genre outside of his home country.
