Repopulate Mars
RPM011 | 2017-04-07
Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars assembles a four-track release aligned with Miami Winter Music Conference featuring POPOF, Mihalis Safras, Tennan and a James Curd remix of Chez Moon.
Since its launch a year ago, Repopulate Mars has rapidly cemented itself as one of the hottest labels in modern house and techno. Featuring the likes of Detlef, MK, Sonny Fodera, Patrick Topping, Justin Jay, Mat.Joe and Cuartero, the strength of the names on the label’s discography are undeniable. Now, with the arrival of ‘Repopulate Miami’, the imprint can add four more solid cuts to its arsenal.

Chicago’s James Curd, known for releases on Trax and Classic, initiates the package with an imaginative rendition of Chez Moon ‘Don’t Need You Anymore’ featuring crunchy percussion, tranquil notes and a medley of distorted vocals and nuances.

Hot Creations regular and Form Music founder POPOF then delivers a robust number titled ‘One Two’ that combines a funky bassline with chopped samples and stuttering effects before Material’s Mihalis Safras implements a moody groove and an infectious melody in ‘PI.M.P.’ Tying things together, VIVa newcomer Tennan presents echoing atmospherics and twisted synths in the booming ‘Maschina’.
