The Yellowheads - Conquerors
Our Yellowhead leaders are at it again, unleashing another percussion-led beast, which in return gets
paired with two most thought-provoking remixes, by the ever-prolific Wehbba and Danilo Vigorito.
On the original mix of “Conquerors” we are quickly introduced to metallic chords that integrate with the
rock-steady rhythm section, as tribalesque beats and a haunting vocal sample, reiterate throughout the
whole arrangement. Wehbba slightly pulls the gears back and takes a dubbier approach, focusing on
eerie effects and streamlined atmospherics, thus adding to the hypnotic vibe. For the closer we have
Danilo Vigorito’s interpretation, which effortlessly stomps away with commanding stabs constantly
pushing forward, while the disjoined chords and mangled vocal snippets of the original intertwine with
tasty nods to old school productions. ?
