Underground Audio is arguably one of the best modern labels that operates out of the UK, but despite that it still manages to turn heads with its considered releases and a admirable penchant for pushing new and emerging acts.

Their latest comes from Neil Parkes, who delivers with aplomb on the Pressure EP, a release that summons up two classy originals and a remix from astute tastemaker, Mihalis Safras. First cut, ‘Pressure’ is a richly constructed bit of main room house with lots of rippling synth lines. The percussion is subtle and icy, and the whole track is full of groovy moods aplenty. Safras’ remix is a similarly banging effort, as he relies on some heavy kick drums and a really warm baseline to grant the track that extra edge. Lastly, ‘Loco Motive’ is a slower, deeper and more raspy cut - and one that’s full of sombre, swaying motifs aplenty. A considerate EP that the real heads are sure to lap up in their droves.
