Fresh off his FACT mix, his debut at Fabric and recent remixes for Ultramajic and Dubspeeka, Bodyjack's first full EP of 2015 is about to drop.
Since his debut EP on Hypercolour 18 months ago, Bodyjack has been releasing a steady flow of proper heavyweight dancefloor cuts. The often tricky world of vinyl sales has been navigated with ease, quickly selling out his releases on his BodyTrax and Bodyjack labels.
The 'Throwdown EP' has Bodyjack throw a full hand to the table, with each track designed to drive different stages of peaktime club sets. The title track, The Throwdown, blends dirty bassline and drum textures with emphatic Chicago piano and a killer vocal hook. A big room track designed to play loud. 'All Werk And No Play' is a straight-up banger, medling jacked-up beats with quirky UK style basslines, and a Terrence Parker-esque piano line. Rounding things off off with Get Raw - the EP's late night, warehouse-going cousin. With ghostly, monstrous synths, skittering toms and the incitement to `Push it', this track is one for the UK bass crew.
With his music earning raves across the board - Jackmaster, Annie Mac, Jimmy Edgar Heidi, Serge, Gerd, Huxley and high praise from DJ Mag, Radio 1, RINSE FM, Pete Tong, Seth Troxler, Mr. G, Shadow Child, Deetron and Breach ' this new EP cements his position one of the artists seriously rising up the UK scene.
