The "Primal Dirges" EP is Twirlspace's 2nd release of June 2006. This project showcases four timeless, 120bpm Deep House gems. Low in tempo, but sky-high on energy and content. The EP opens with "Paparazzi"; which begins as a grinding electro-funk dirge, switches to a light, airy piano sonnet then finishes with a flurry of wild chord changes and progressions. Next is "Indigo Gone". This beauty has a fierce kick and is composed of many light and thoughtful melodies, which work so nicely with one another. Then there's "Liar King", the truly quirky, left-field offering of this EP. While a little off the beaten path, this one's unquestionably a stomper. Finally, there's "Every Sweet Goodnight". This song can't be aptly described by any set of words. It's just sweetness, hugs & kisses and sunshine put to music. Listen for the randy guitar and synth-lead solos.
