Almost exactly two years on from the 'Benedict & Grace' EP, LPZ return to Loungin' via 'Spirals'. Instead of the trio's usual production process of transatlantic file sharing, the title track is the sole work of LPZ's London connection, Javier Rodríguez (aka Cosmo Lopez), with the two Asunción-based members dropping back to remix duty. Crafted over the summer months, the purpose-made Spirals pays homage to Loungin's heritage for house at the deeper end of the spectrum, whilst still aligning with the trio's signature sound. As for the three remixes, micro-house pioneer Benjamin Brunn applies his trademark analogue mechanics to convert the original into a bumping nu-jazz swinger. In contrast, LPZ's Ariel Soler (P Lopez) and Jorge Carron (Lion) extend Spirals' running time to take a Villalobos-esque foray into the void of deep techno, before Suren Seneviratne creates a balmy soundscape under his red-hot My Panda Shall Flymoniker.
