UNI & Label boss Ki Creighton give us their ADE 2014 sampler and once again fully support the fresh new talent bringing up the underground around Europe.

The sampler opens with label boss Ki Creighton & Jamie Roy teaming up once again after their early summer “Outerview EP” gained huge industry support and also plays on radio one’s essential selection. “The Grinder” will be a track that is forthcoming on a future EP from the guys and this mix from Sonny Wharton is exclusive to this sampler. Sonny goes straight for the main room Jugular and delivers a no nonsense heavy baseline house workout , utilising the original vocal and wrapping it around a pounding kick section.

After receiving heavy support from Richie Hawtin and the techno Hierarchy over the past 5 weeks Fraser Stuart delivers “Blow” to the package. Blow is a no nonsense techno pounder that is as much funky as it is minimal , taking its vocals from the namesake movie this is one for those who take no prisoners when it comes to putting things down heavy.

This Is I, is a 26 year old Glaswegian producer who makes his debut on UNI with “Good Thing” . A very atmospheric ride into the cool side of tech-house and the current evolving usage of emotion in music. Its dark yet extremely in touch with its house roots , Very Hot Since 82 / Sidney Charles structure and a sure fire winner on the dance floor.

“String Pluck” From Manchester’s Fran Fitzgerald takes us back to the labels Techno side. This track oozes class of production skills and rides a very pounding hypnotic warehouse vibe. clever use of percussion and a deeply emdowed bassline make this another peak time monster from Mr Fitzgerald.

Label favourite Itchy Newman delivers his contribution in the shape of the head infecting groover “Roadstone” , again we are treated to a very bumpy tech-house workout with very cool chopped up vocal effects and a delayed searing rhythm section.

St Petersburg’s Madvim makes a return to the label and “Tropicana” stamps the house sound all over the sampler. Its percussive rhythms bounce around a laser effect bassline, staggered loops and squelching acid tones. We can see people losing their minds to this one at ADE.

Last but not least UNI give a debut release to Circus Liverpool resident and all round nice guy Scott Lewis . “Mara” is a straight up main room tech-house gem that utilises an analogue baseline and moves it around a vocal sample with great results.
