The Soulsupplement compound is buzzing with energy and the troops are recharged, refitted and fully recovered after taking a vacation for the first time in 8 years. As you can imagine we all wanted to come strong with some deep funky spring time goodness and the boss man Bruno Browning does just that with his first Soulsupplement Ep of 2014,”Red Light”. Evidently he’s been sitting on this two track Ep for a while now and for the life of us we can’t figure out why because we love it.

We get things started with the title track “Red Light” a four on the floor deceptively driving deep house number that will work whether you’re taking the energy levels up, taking them down or letting them ride. As usual Bruno does what he does with three nasty bass lines one of which you might be familiar with, but of course it was originally played as a rhythm guitar. Horn stabs and runs played by Bruno as well as a few synth bits and a vocal that will take you back.

Bringing us home is “Gracie’s Groove” a really special track that was first considered a b side number but has quickly grown into the compound’s favorite…we’ll let you decide. Another four to the floor juicy cut that once again has Bruno bringing the bass like a champ. This time he steps his game up with some Farfisa Organ and some really beautiful woodwinds that make this one truly for the deepest of cats.

The feeling around Soulsupplement is that this is Bruno’s and the label’s best work to date and we are very proud share it with you… We hope you enjoy.
