KILLER JACKING CHI_DETROIT TECHNOMADNESS - 12 of the month in DJ MAG (UK) and TSUGI Magazine (France)
A track is a track, is a track is a track. But not every track is just a track. Trackleton's stands for much more than just tracks. On his debut ep you won't get to hear the substandard generic ordinary music that can be found everywhere. He has it all. Disco, House, Minimal, Techno, you name it, he brings it. Welcoming our latest act "Trackleton" with his first appearance in form of his "Jump EP"
adds a variety of deep styles to this 3-tracker like we have not heard it a long while. The a side is a Detroit influenced dance-floor sweeper with melodies so deep and beats so sharp that will leave no escape from making heads turning and get your feet dancing. B1 plays it cool all around the bass-line, laying things down in a old-school sounding manner – minimal to the bone, but done so cleverly to ensure that the basics simply sit right and will get you moving. The B-2 track then surprises you with more than just a hint of Disco that will be standing out from the norm and creates a nice diversity. One does not often hear music so warm, on point, deep and yet fully dance-floor oriented.
FEEDBACK:
YRE014 in the media
ALTON MILLER (Detroit): "yoooooooooooooooo. trackleton ep!!!! Get it or i will send my gremlins over there to take care of you guys. i am really digging this man. super dope funk on plastic. "
Anthony ShakeShakir: "trackleton jump. is an amazing track to me. this whole record is adult and serious! this is a must have record. I will be playing them in my sets. "
D'julz (Pokerflat): "superb deep music "
Dj Deep (Deeply Rooted): "Nice old school flavor while my sequencer gently sleeps is the one for me"
DJ MAG (UK): "Kudos to Yore for signing Trackleton, but it's hard to believe the accomplished 'Jump' is his first release. 'Traditional Folk Song' is powered by a resonating Chicago bassline and 'Let's Do It' is a spaced out deep house affair, but neither compare to 'While My Sequencer Gently Weeps'. Featuring a detuned synth line that sounds like Bodycode or Repeat Orchestra and interstellar acid bleeps and blips supported by a lopsided rhythm, it inhabits its own world. Richard Brophy"
Federico Molinari (Oslo): "cool record"
IDJ Magazine: "Record of the month!"
Jamie Jones (Crosstown Rebels_: "Really good record, haven't worked out which track is my favorite yet, but all sounds nice. will be spinning for sure... cheers!"
Jose Belo Dance Club Magazin: "you can always count on yore to deliver quality. dance music that is made for more than just dancing."
Karotte (CocoonGreat Stuff): "b seite find ich gut. wird gespielt."
Mike Shannon (Cynosure): "I dig the B2 track let's do it. In the box! "
5 Points Achim "
Residentadvisor.net: "With artists like Patrice Scott, Rick Wade and Bodycode releasing on Yore, label owner Andy Vaz should be commended for signing Trackleton, an unknown artist, to his high-caliber roster. Let's hope that Vaz's adventurous A&Ring pays off, because if it is to be judged on quality alone and in isolation from the name game, Jump will be a sure-fire winner. Inspired by classic US house and techno with a few nods to European variants, this release is so accomplished and assured that it's hard to believe it's the producer's debut. Jump starts with Traditional Folk Song, an assured opener, with Trackleton jacking to the sound of a resonating Chicago bassline. On the other hand, Let's Do It sees the producer explore a more esoteric house-techno gray zone, where spaced out sounds and hypnotic, repetitive sounds predominate. However, neither track can compare to While My Sequencer Gently Weeps. Centred on a detuned synth line that's equal parts Portable/Bodycode and (the criminally underrated) Repeat Orchestra, and leavened with a series of UR-style interstellar of blips, bleeps and blurps, this lopsided, offbeat track inhabits a unique place. Inspired by the past and current innovations, Trackleton has carved out his own place in the house/techno firmament."
