This EP is a lean & functional mechanism that showcases disciplined sound design with Merlin’s background as a percussionist clearly present, most explicitly in “Tilt”, a track that feels like testing-ground for how far rhythm can be pushed before the controlled instability dislodges its frame off-axis.
