Seekers EP

Gats

Seekers is the new EP from producer Gats — a dub-soaked, trance-tinged exploration of texture, rhythm, and atmosphere. Across three original tracks and a deep dub reinterpretation by Mozes, the record drifts between ambient dance, psychedelic shimmer, and experimental sound collage. Built from field recordings, found tones, and analogue synth fragments, Seekers captures the pulse of a city that never quite sleeps — dreamlike, disoriented, and vividly alive.

This project was born in the chaos of a coastal city that never really sleeps — the kind of place where the streets seem to breathe, where voices blur into rhythm, and every corner hums with overlapping stories.

On Seekers, Gats channels that atmosphere into three tracks that chase the fractured poetry of urban drift — sometimes soft and hazy, sometimes tangled and dense, like time folding in on itself. There are no straight lines here, just a pulse that stumbles and soars.

Laced with psychedelic shimmer, warm low-end, and textures that float like smoke through alleyways, the EP feels like a collection of dream fragments from the in-between — half memory, half mirage, carried forward by something just out of reach.

For Gats, music is less about composition in the traditional sense and more about discovery. Every existing sound becomes potential raw material: the scrape of an object, a fragment of tape, the hum of an old circuit, or the tone of a forgotten keyboard. Out of these fragments, Gats builds sonic collages that take shape as electronic songs — pieces where texture is just as important as melody.

On Seekers, this approach crystallizes into music that feels both intimate and uncharted. Each track pursues a distinct emotional terrain rather than a fixed genre, resulting in a body of work that is unmistakably Gats — a kind of aural archaeology assembled from the overlooked and the ordinary, reshaped into something singular.

Closing the release, producer Mozes Meijer reimagines one of the EP’s key pieces through his own lens. His dub-rooted interpretation doesn’t shy away from dancefloors but veers closer to a certain reggae origin. It dives deep into the echo chamber, where bass becomes landscape and delay turns into dialogue. It’s a stripped-back yet immersive interpretation — less a remix than a meditative descent into space and weight.

“Mozes took the track and made it breathe differently,” Gats adds. “He found the air inside it — that tension between what’s said and what’s left out. It’s dub in the truest sense.”

Seekers will be released on December 5 by Special place across all digital platforms.
