Swedish trio Baeka aka P. A Qvick, Zapfe and Dorian, return to Piston Recordings with the outstanding A Deeper Vibration. Drawing inspiration from 70s underground artist Baeka Buick, the group has spent years perfecting their distinctive psychedelic house sound. Blending dub-jazz, dub-house, cut-up-disco and beyond, Baeka have been shaping an impressive catalogue since 2003. It’s a pleasure to welcome them back with another standout release.

A Deeper Vibration opens the release, with reverbed hits giving way to chunky kick drums and crisp hi-hats layered with live-sounding percussion. The track unfolds with a smooth vocal and catchy piano riff that shine on the break, adding character. Deep, subby basses command the low end, while swirling pads create a hypnotic, immersive atmosphere. Garage-inspired rhythms and an infectious hook drive the groove, making this track soulful, danceable and engaging.

Show Me You Love Me rounds out the release, opening with punchy kick drums, crisp hi-hats, and rhythmic percussion, setting a tight, infectious rhythm. Catchy organ riffs add flavour and a retro-inspired vibe, while cool vocal shots punctuate the mix with character. Heavy sub basses anchor the low end, giving the track depth and warmth, as a soft, emotive vocal emerges to add a smooth, layer. A definite must for any set that will keep the floors moving.
