Heartbreak City, a synth-pop trio hailing from South Wales, UK, is set to release their debut single 'Horizon' on July 10th. The band (formed in late 2023 by Toby Davy, Aled R. Evans, and Jon Lilygreen) blends their lifelong love for 80s music with modern elements of rock, pop, and soul creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly original.

With a collective 15 years of experience performing in professional bands, the trio are no strangers to the stage or studio. Their collaboration is rooted in a deep musical friendship, and it shows in their seamless creative process. Every note, lyric, and beat is self-crafted, with all music written, produced and mixed in-house. Vocal and guitar tracks are refined at Jon's studio, while primary production is handled at Toby's studio in Newport, Wales.

'Horizon' is the first glimpse into their upcoming 10-track debut album (two years in the making), which explores love, loss and longing through rich synth textures and emotional storytelling. Lyrics like 'I feel you there on my horizon, just out of reach' and 'The nights turn into days. and my heart just won't unbreak' capture the aching vulnerability at the song's core.

Inspired by artists of the 80s, 90s and today (as well as each other during improvisational sessions), Heartbreak City offers something genuinely heartfelt and distinct. 'Horizon' is more than just a debut single; it's a statement of intent from a band ready to leave a mark on the modern synth-pop scene.
